Quarterfinal drama was on display on Saturday as each of the four games contested were decided by one goal. Florida State beat UConn 3-2 in 2OTs, while Notre Dame scrapped by Duke by 3-2 as well. Duke fell behind 2-0 before rallying to tie the match. Kerri Hanks notched the winner though.
USC was the only road team to win after travelling to West Virginia and winning 1-0 on a goal from Kasey Johnson.
In the nightcap, UCLA faced Portland as the top two ranked teams in the country met. UCLA would prevail but needed overtime to beat Portland 3-2. Portland's All-American senior midfielder Angie Woznuk scored off a corner kick with 69 seconds remaining in regulation to even the score at 2 and send the game to overtime. In overtime, Danesha Adams scored the winner in the 104th minute of play on a header from a corner.
In next week's Final Four we will have Florida State facing Notre Dame and USC playing rivals UCLA.
