The 2009 Under 20 World Cup draw has taken place and the US Under 20 men's national soccer team has been placed in Group C with Germany, Cameroon and Korea Republic for the 2009 U20 World Cup to be played in Egypt beginning in September. It will be an extremely challenging task for the US as it looks to be the strongest grouping in the tournament.
"We have definitely been drawn into a strong group, perhaps the strongest of the tournament, but that poses a great opportunity," US coach Thomas Rongen said in a press release. "Anytime you have the chance to play against teams like Germany, Cameroon and Korea Republic, it is a chance to showcase American football."
Group A -- Egypt, Trinidad and Tobago, Paraguay, Italy
Group B -- Nigeria, Venezuela, Spain, Tahiti
Group C -- United States, Germany, Cameroon, South Korea
Group D -- Ghana, Uzbekistan, England, Uruguay
Group E -- Brazil, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Australia
Group F -- United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Honduras, Hungary
