The United States Under 20 Men's National Team finished third at the 2008 Milk Cup with a 2-0 victory against Belgium this evening at Riada Stadium in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland.
The Americans got goals from Peri Marosevic and Casey Townsend, both in the second half, on a sunny day in Northern Ireland. Peri Marosevic put the US in the lead in the 56th minute when he put away a penalty kick. Casey Townsend put the game on ice a little less than 20 minutes later by capitalizing on a mistake by a Belgium defender who lost control of a long punt from the American goalkeeper Brian Perk, allowing Townsend to steal the ball and finish.
Previously in the tourney the Americans lost to host Northern Ireland and handily defeated Wales. The US U20s now return home to their professional and college sides.
