The US Under 18 National Soccer Team opened the Lisbon International Tournament with a solid 1-0 win over Finland. A solid defensive effort that held Finland to only 3 shots the entire night kept the match scoreless until the 67th minute when found the winner off a corner kick. Gregory Garza flighted a perfect ball into the box where Gale Agbossoumonde rose and buried the header for the margin of victory.
The US outshot Finland 15-3 and were definitely the deserved winners on the day. Zac MacMath made two saves in goal for the shutout. Two difficult group games remain for the US U18s as they face Germany and Portugal this week.
