The US Under 18 National Team certainly enjoyed their trip down under as they rolled to the Australian Youth Olympic Festival title last week. The Americans opened play with a 1-1 draw with a tough Chile squad. A corner kick goal from Amobi Okugo provided the tying score. Next up was China U17s which were disposed of in easy fashion with a massive 14-0 triumph.
The US Under 18s closed with the Australians and were not nice to their hosts. Two goals from Will Bates and another from Miles Byass staked the US to a comfortable 3-0 lead. The 2nd half saw more domination form the Americans as they added a goal from Jose Altamirano and a penalty from Hasani Sinclair for the 5-0 final score.
