USA drawn into Group C with England for World Cup 2010

The drama is over and the US knows the details for World Cup 2010.  The Americans were drawn into Group C along with England, Algeria and Slovenia.  The mouthwatering match with England will open Group C play on June 12th in Rustenburg.  The US will then face Slovenia June 18th in Johannesburg and finish with Algeria June 23rd in Pretoria.

Group C -
1. England
2. USA
3. Algeria
4. Slovenia

The top two teams from the group will advance to the knockout rounds and both the US and England will be favored to advance from group.  The June 12th USA-England game will mark a rematch of the famous 1950 World Cup upset when the Americans defeated England 1-0. The game is known as the Miracle on Grass when a team of American amateurs took out the vaunted English.
