The U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team defeated Japan, 1-0, in their third and final match of the SBS Cup at Ecopa Stadium in Shizuoka, Japan. Shawn Barry scored the game-winner in the 62nd minute off a pass from Andrew Weideman. Weideman had chased down a long ball into the right corner, defeated a defender and then dropped the ball back inside the area for the streaking Barry, who buried his shot past the 'keeper.
The victory was the first for the U.S. in the SBS Cup after falling in their previous two matches.
