The US Soccer Federation announced plans to play away friendlies with Spain and Poland in the next few months. The games are scheduled in preparation for the upcoming opening of World Cup qaulifying that begins in June. The US will open qualifying against Barbados or Dominica on June 15 at Carson, California and play the return leg the next week.
Poland has become a familiar figure for the US National Team and the two countries will meet again on March 26th in Krakow, Poland. June brings a very attractive matchup with world powers Spain. The game will be on June 4th with the site yet to be determined in Spain.
USSF president Sunil Gulati also said the federation is negotiating to play a top five team in the northeast United States on June 8 with Argentina appearing to be the most likely possibility.
