The US Under 17 National Team came out on fire as they dominated the opening half to roll over Brazil 3-1 Sunday. Both the USA and Brazil entered the match with a win and a draw. Both sides beat Turkey and tied with France.
The Americans got the dream start they needed as Rubio Rubin put home a Junior Flores set piece. It was only the start for Flores who was dominant all night long as Brazil had no answer for the crafty American. He was involved in all three US goals on the day.
Brazil would not go quietly though as they recovered from the early goal and got the match even as Matheus Queiroz rifled home a shot from outside the penalty area. It was all US from there though as they scored twice before the break.
Another set piece would put the US ahead as Brazil failed to deal with a corner kick. Tyler Turner latched onto the loose ball and fired home from 10 yards. Just before halftime it was 3-1 when Flores got in behind the Brazil defense. From there he slid a perfect square ball finding Wesley Wade for the finish.
The second half was an even 45 as both sides created a few chances. In the end the American defense stood strong keeping the South Americans scoreless for the 45 minutes. In the other match France and Turkey tied leaving France to finish in 3rd place.

The US women have their new star. First there was Mia Hamm. Then there was Abby Wambach. It looks like young Alex Morgan is the next in line of the great American womens goal scorer.
