Uruguay pure class in winning Copa America
Uruguay just had too much class for an overwhelmed Paraguay on Sunday as they ran out 3-0 winners in the final of the Copa America.  The Uruguay attack tandem of Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez were unstoppable as they accounted for all three goals in the match. 

The flow was all Uruguay from the opening whistle as they earned four corner kicks in the opening seven minutes.  Luis Suarez opened the scoring in the 12th as he collected a loose ball inside the Paraguay penalty area.  He quickly fired on goal, but his shot took a deflection and rolled into the far corner as the keeper went the other way.  Diego Forlan doubled the lead just before halftime as he ripped home from just inside the area.

An inspired Forlan finished off the match just before the end as he made it 3-0.  Paraguay had made their run to the final with a strong defense, but it was not evident on the day as Uruguay bossed long stretches.  Paraguay played without injured attackers Roque Santa Cruz and Aureliano Torres.  They were also without coach Gerardo Martino and assistant Jorge Paitasso who were sent off in the semifinal.

The win earns Uruguay a spot in the 2013 Confederations Cup to be held in Brazil as a warmup for the 2014 World Cup.
