The 2nd round of the NCAA mens soccer tournament produced several shocking upsets on Wednesday night. Most notably #1 overall seed Boston College losing on their home field to U Mass 2-1. Cinderella Central Connecticut State pulled their second upset of the tourney travelling to Tulsa and winning 3-2. Who would have ever chosen a Central Connecticut State - U Mass game in the round of 16? Another huge upset saw Bradley eliminate Indiana in penalty kicks after playing to a 1-1 draw.
Other seeded teams to fall were Akron, losing to South Florida as well as Brown who was knocked out by Old Dominion. Northwestern also fell to local rival Illinois-Chicago. Some top seeds did survive however. U Conn had no trouble with Vermont and Wake Forest took care of Furman.

The field and bracket for the 2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship was announced Monday and the tournament’s #1 seed was awarded to North Carolina.
