North Carolina and Maryland off to blazing start to college soccer season
The college soccer season is underway and a couple of east coast ACC powers are off to blazing starts.  North Carolina and Maryland are once again showing they will be forces to be reckoned with this year.

UNC is currently ranked #1 in the nation after a perfect 3-0-0 start.  Last weekend they notched impressive wins over Oregon State and last years NCAA finalists Louisville.  They opened the season with a 3-1 win over UNC Wilmington.  The only blemish to the start has to be the fact that the defense has conceded a goal in all three games.  The offense, however, is plugging along notching ten goals in the young season led be Billy Schuler who has four goals.

North Carolina prepares for a test in the coming weeks as they have road tests at Virgnia Tech, Wake Forest and Virginia all on tap.

Maryland is well.....Maryland.  Top flight every year and this year looks to be much the same.  Led by stud coach Sasho Cirovski who earned his 300th career win recently the Terps look powerful.

Currently ranked #4, Maryland has rolled to impressive wins over Stanford, West Virginia and St Johns so far and they have a differential of 12-2 so far.  Offensively Casey Townsend has scored four and John Stertzer has found the net three times while Will Swaim has a pair of shutouts in goal.  Maryland opens ACC play hosting Boston College this weekend.
