It was an impressive display from the North Londoners as they set about their business right from the very start. Tottenham had to make up a 3-2 deficit from the opening leg in Switzerland and had no doubt they would be able to overcome with the support of a boisterous home crowd at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham were in the lead in only 5 minutes as Peter Crouch got his first for the evening. Young Boys had no answer for the towering Crouch and he made them pay all evening long. In the 32nd minute Jermaine DeFoe put Tottenham ahead 2-0 and up 4-3 on aggregate. The home side were celebrating and Tottenham could taste the Champions League group stages.
The 2nd half was all one way traffic and Peter Crouch put it out of reach in the 61st minute as he headed home a Gareth Bale cross. Shortly after Tottenham earned a penalty and Crouch put it home for his hattrick. The Young Boys were done and they'll be left for the Europa League. Tottenham will get to taste the ultimate as they qualify for the Champions League group stages. They'll learn their draw later in the week and management can plan for the $25 million payday that comes with the Champions League.
