Spain take care of business winning Group H

Spain take care of business winning Group H

Spain took care of business as expected on Friday as they defeated Chile 2-1 to win Group H at the 2010 World Cup.  Spain had to win after their loss to Switzerland last week.  Chile just needed to stay close and hope Switzerland didn't win big over Honduras.

Things looked bleak for Chile as they found themselves down 2-0 and also playing with 10 men after Marco Estrada was sent off in the 37th minute.  David Villa and Andres Iniesta had notched the goals.  All Switzerland had to do was find a goal against minnows Honduras.  It turned out to be tough going for the ultra defensive Swiss as they finished 0-0.

Chile grabbed one back early in the second half when Rodrigo Millar scored.  The game slowed to a crawl after as both teams were aware the scoreline would give both the result they needed to move on in the tournament.

Spain wins the group, but finds themeselves with a very difficult task in the round of 16 as they will face off against rivals Portugal.  Things are worse for Chile as they must face enemies Brazil in their knockout round.
