David Silva goal lifts Manchester City over Arsenal
David Silva provided a close range finish leading Manchester City to a 1-0 win over Arsenal Sunday at Etihad Stadium in Manchester.  The win moved City back over Manchester United at the top of the EPL standings.

It was a game that definitely deserved more goals than one.  Both sides created plenty of opportunity only to see the shot slip wide or a goalkeeper make the save.  Both Joe Hart in the City nets and Szczesny at the other end had magnificent matches notching eleven saves between them.

It was a single play ten minutes into the second half that would be the difference though.  Balotelli cut inside the box and fired a low shot to the back post.  Szczesny went down low to make the initial save, but the rebound popped up and fell to the feet of David Silva who half volleyed it home.

Arsenal brought on Arshavin and Chamakh and pushed for the equalizer, but Vermaelen saw a pair of his late shots go begging.  Hart pushed the first of Vermaelen's strikes just over while his shot in the final minute whistled inches wide.

The loss leaves Arsenal tied in 5th with Liverpool entering the busy Holiday fixture list.
