Former Columbus Crew coach Sigi Schmid looks set to take the reigns of MLS expansion side Seattle Sounders FC next season. There has been some controversy to the hiring as Columbus have filed tampering charges against the Sounders, accusing Seattle of negotiating while still under contract. The MLS ruled that there was no tampering, but that the Sounders should compensate the Crew financially for the rights to sign Schmid. In response to the MLS demand, Seattle gave Columbus allocation money as well as some cash. Sigi Schmid has formerly coached both the LA Galaxy and Columbus Crew to MLS Cup Titles.
Seattle added US National Team keeper Kasey Keller previously and as well as USL star forward Sebastien Le Toux. Then they selected ten players from around the league in the expansion draft. Currently the team has 14 rostered players and will look to add more in the upcoming MLS Super Draft next month.
