Red hot Tottenham dispatches Aston Villa

Red hot Tottenham dispatches Aston Villa
Don't look now but here comes Tottenham.  After dropping their opening two EPL games of the season the Spurs have eight wins and a draw in their last nine matches.  Aston Villa were the latest victims as Emmanuel Adebayor notched a pair of goals on the night.

The win moves Tottenham up to 3rd in the EPL standings on 25 points.  They trail Manchester United by four points and Man City by nine points, but have a game in hand on both.  With attacking players like Adebayor, Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon and Rafael Van der Vaart they are a threat to score on every attack.

Aston Villa provided little resistance Monday as they sat deep early on and allowed Tottenham the ball.  Tottenham made them pay in less than 15 minutes as Gareth Bale assisted Adebayor's right footed strike.  Just before halftime the home side made it 2-0 as Adebayor struck once again off a Bale pass.

Tottenham should be able to continue their hot run of play as they face West Brom, Bolton, Stoke and Sunderland next before heading into the busy Holiday fixture list.
