A dramatic late goal in the opening leg last weekend had given Real Salt Lake hope of going to Chivas USA and advancing, but an early penalty kick from Chivas USA threw a wrench in those plans. In the 29th minute. Ante Razov moved into the RSL penalty area where he was hauled down by Javier Morales and given a penalty kick. Sacha Kljestan neatly put the post kick away to even the aggregate at 1-1.
Real Salt Lake would jump back on top in the 39th as Javier Morales sent a cross inside the penalty area from the right to an onrushing Dema Kovalenko, who headed the bal past Zach Thornton inside the far post. RSL would take the lead to the half.
Real Salt Lake would make it 3-1 in the 76th minute when Robbie Findley got a ball to Javier Morales who fired a low shot int the net giving RSL an insurmountable lead. Chivas USA would grab one back with 7 minutes to play Justin Braun, but could not get the equalizer as Real Salt Lake advanced to the Western Conference Finals where they will face either Houston Dynamo or New York Red Bull.

FC Dallas was just minutes away from grabbing the full three points against the LA Galaxy at The Home Depot Center. They just could not close the deal though as Pat Noonan scored in stoppage time to salvage the tie.
