US men ready for Trinidad & Tobago Wednesday

The US men can take a big step towards the 2010 South Africa World Cup with a win over Trinidad & Tobago Wednesday evening in Nashville.  After a lackluster performance in El Salvador Saturday that saw the American men have to rally with two late goals to salvage a draw, the team will be looking to have a more consistent performance against Trinidad. 

A defense that was shaky in El Salvador will welcome back goalkeeper Tim Howard from suspension and Gooch Onyewu from a slight injury.  Heath Pierce and Dan Califf were very questionable on Saturday and should be replaced in the lineup.  Look for Frankie Hedjuk to be flying up and down the right side for the Americans out of the back.  Jonathan Bornstein has been added to the roster for the match as well.

There could also be a change in the midfield as Sacha Kljestan has been ineffective the last couple of matches.  Possibly Landon Donovan could drop into the mid and Jozy Altidore could go up top?

The US currently top the CONCACAF group on 4 points, but are closely followed by Mexico and Costa Rica on 3.  Trinidad has a pair of draw to show for their two matches thus far.
