Panathinaikos pulled the shock upset beating Inter Milan on Wednesday 1-0. Bordeaux got a late header from a corner to draw with Chelsea and throw Group A into chaos heading into the final matchday. Meanwhile, both Group C matches were whitewashes as both Barcelona and Shakhtar Donetsk notched 5 goals on the day.
Group A -
Chelsea 1 Bordeaux 1
Roma 3 CFR Cluj 1
Group A is up for grabs going into the last matchday. Roma vaulted to the group lead with their win and sit on 9 points. Chelsea is 2nd on 8 and Bordeaux is on 7. Roma and Bordeaux play the last matchday while Chelsea faces last place CFR Cluj.
Group B -
Panathinaikos 1 Inter Milan 0
Anorthosis 2 Werder Bremen 2
Even with the shock loss Inter is through to the knockout phases. The last round match between Panathinaikos and Anorthosis will decide 2nd place.
Group C -
Barcelona 5 Sporting Lisbon 2
Shakhtar Donetsk 5 FC Basel 0
Both games in Group C were blowouts. Sporting Lisbon didn't help their cause any with 2 own goals while Jadson netted a hat trick for Shakhtar Donetsk.
Group D -
Atletico Madrid 2 PSV Eindhoven 1
Liverpool 1 Marseille 0
Atletico and Liverpool are both into the knockout phases. Marseille and PSV Eindhoven are even on 3 points for 3rd place.
