Houston Dynamo 3 Sydney FC 0
Houston Dynamo cruised into the final of the Pan-Pacific Championship with a 3-0 victory against Sydney FC in Wednesday night's second semi-final. The Dynamo struck three times in the first half and closed out the Hyundai A-League side to keep alive hopes for a tournament champion from Major League Soccer. Dwayne De Rosario, the 2007 MLS Cup MVP, opened the scoring after 27 minutes with a fierce strike from 25 yards out which evaded goalkeeper Clint Bolton. Stuart Holden added a second just a minute later and Chris Wondolowski rounded off the scoring with a low shot two minutes before half-time. Hawaiian hero Brian Ching was unable to get on the scoresheet but helped to set up the first and third goals.
Gamba Osaka 1 LA Galaxy 0
Gamba Osaka booked their place in the final of the Pan-Pacific Championship with a 1-0 victory against the Los Angeles Galaxy at Aloha Stadium on Wednesday night. A goal in the third minute from Brazilian striker Bare was the only score of the game and gave the J.League side the distinction of winning the tournament's first ever match. Bare sprinted past the Galaxy defense and fired a left-foot shot past goalkeeper Steve Cronin. David Beckham played the entire 90 minutes for the Galaxy, which was playing its first preseason match of 2008.
