Owen hat trick leads Manchester United

A Michael Owen hat trick lifted Manchester United to a 3-1 win at Wolfsburg and to the top of Group B in Champions League play.  Injuries forced Man U to play a suspect defense at Wolfsburg and they were hangin by a thread tied 1-1 late in the game.  Wolfsburg were pushing hard for the winner when a pair of counter attacks were finished off by Michael Owen resulting in the 3-1 final score.  Manchester United win Group B while Wolfsburg finish 3rd behind CSKA Moscow.

In other Champions League action, Juventus crashed out of of the competition getting thrashed 4-1 by Bayern Munich.  The win lifted Bayern into the 2nd spot in Group A and a place in the knockout rounds.    Bordeaux easily won the group.  Both big boys advanced from Group C as Real Madrid and AC Milan took the top two places while Chelsea won Group D with Porto taking the 2nd spot.

The remaining four groups will be decided on Wednesday.  Only Arsenal has their group wrapped up with the other three winners yet to be determined.
