Newcastle runs their unbeaten EPL start to 11 games

Newcastle runs their unbeaten EPL start to 11 games
Who could have foreseen this Newcastle squad being this solid?  An unsettling summer has led to a tremendous start to the 2011-2012 season as Newcastle has run off an unbeaten streak of 11 matches and currently sit 3rd in the EPL standings.

Saturday they won once again as they dispatched Everton 2-1 behind a blast from Ryan Taylor.  Only Man City and Man United sit ahead of the northerners and it is their best start to a season since 1994.

Forward Demba Ba has been a revelation up top as he has notched 8 EPL goals so far.  Newcastle has been even better defensively having only allowed 7 goals so far for the best goals against in the entire league.  Keeper Tim Krul has been wonderful notching 4 shutouts.

Things will get more difficult though.  They have a small squad and the injuries are mounting.  Cheik Tiote is already out injured and Newcastle lost both Yohan Cabaye and Sylvain Marveaux in the Everton game.  Daunting trips to both Manchester United and Manchester City await as well.

No matter what happens in the two Manchester matches, Newcastle is clearly the surprise of the EPL so far and look a force to be reckoned with for the entire year.
