Boston College earned the top overall seed thanks to their taking the ACC Soccer Tournament last weekend. The team they defeated in the ACC championship game, Wake Forest, received the #2 seed. Rounding out the top 4 seeds were UConn with the 3 and Indiana with the 4 seed. The top 16 seeded teams received a bye in the first round of the NCAA Mens Soccer Tournament and will host a 2nd round matchup.
Several interesting matchups dot the 1st round as New Mexico faces UCLA and Duke has to travel to Louisville. Possible enticing 2nd round matchups could show SMU travelling to Creighton, Virginia facing West Virginia, and Santa Clara hosting the winner of New Mexico/UCLA.
The Final Four will be held in Cary, North Carolina the weekend of December 14-16.
