The NCAA released the brackets and seeding for the 2008 Womens Soccer Tournament this evening. The four #1 seeds are Notre Dame, North Carolina, UCLA and Stanford. The ACC leads all conferences with eight teams in the tournament, while six teams will represent the Big 12, the SEC and the Pac 10. Four teams made the tourney from the Big Ten and the Big East with three teams from the Colonial Athletic. Seven teams are making their first appearance in the NCAA women's tournament and include: Army, Belmont, Long Beach State, Morehead State, Northern Arizona, Northeastern and South Dakota State.
First round play begins Friday with the 27th annual NCAA Women’s College Cup to be played December 5 - 7 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. The top seeds in each region:

4. Colorado
1. Stanford
2. Portland
3. Wake Forest
4. Oklahoma State
1. UCLA

The field and bracket for the 2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship was announced Monday and the tournament’s #1 seed was awarded to North Carolina.
