Jose Mourinho has not even been officially named head coach at Real Madrid, but he is already talking about his transfer targets and his plans to rule Europe there. It is a forgone conclusion that he will be named coach and word is only the contract details need working out to finalise the deal. On Thursday the outspoken coach stated he would be planning on targeting English duo Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard to join him at Real Madrid. He also said Ashley Cole would be an attractive fit as well.
"I like players at the end of their careers. I love to have some players around 33 or 34-years-old,'' he said. "They are players that you buy which you cannot recoup the money from, but if you get two or three years out of them it is worth it. Both (Lampard and Gerrard) are two great players and always give everything."
Real Madrid axed head man Manuel Pellegrini earlier this week to open the position for Jose Mourinho who has been rumoured to be making this move for months now. The official hiring announcement should come on Monday now as it has been released that the deal is complete.
