More Transfer News from the EPL

As the transfer window draws to a close, EPL teams are scrambling to lock up those moves and bolster their squads for the stretch league run.  Tottenham was the latest to make a splash when they finalized the double signings of Carlo Cudicini from Chelsea and Pascal Chimbonda from Sunderland.    Cudicini had an expiring contract at Chelsea and was given an 18 month contract by Tottenham.   Chimboda left Tottenham last summer for Sunderland, but was never able to settle there.  It is an interesting move since Spurs have a wealth of right backs already in the roster.

The Andrei Arshavin watch is still on as his transfer from Zenit St Petersburg to Arsenal is just waiting for a "final decision" from the Russian club.

West Ham is looking to break its record in a move for Brescia teenager Savio Nsereko to the club for a reported fee of £9m.  Savio's agent Patrick Bastianelli, has also confirmed that the deal is close to completion, saying: "Savio will go away soon, and the boy is happy to find Zola, a great coach and with him he will only embrace an important technical programme from which he will only grow and improve."

Wigan acquired Colombia striker Hugo Rodallega after finally completing a £4.5million move from Mexican club Necaxa.

Portsmouth landed a pair as well.   Hayden Mullins from West Ham United and Portuguese midfielder Pele on loan from Porto.  The club also gained Jermaine Pennant on loan from Liverpool.
