The 2011 MLS playoffs are set with wild card play beginning on Wednesday night. It will surely be a wild series of rounds leading up to the MLS Cup to be played at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles.
There is nothing quite like the MLS playoffs. A weird format where FC Dallas from the Western Conference gets to play in the East and different formats for each round of the competition. The wild card round is single game while the conference semifinals are a home and home set. The conference finals are a single game as well.
Wednesday night is the wild card round of play as FC Dallas hosts New York Red Bull and Columbus travels to Colorado. The winners will move on to the Conference semifinals that will begin on the weekend.

FC Dallas was just minutes away from grabbing the full three points against the LA Galaxy at The Home Depot Center. They just could not close the deal though as Pat Noonan scored in stoppage time to salvage the tie.
