It's the Houston Dynamo and Los Angeles Galaxy for MLS Cup 2011.  Advantage LA as the championship match will be played at the Galaxy home field Home Depot Center next weekend.

Houston definitely had the harder task on Sunday as they had to travel to Kansas City and beat Sporting KC on their home field.  Both team overcame slow starts to the MLS season to rebound strongly and fight their way to the Eastern Conference championship.  The Dynamo were able to overcome the hostile KS crowd and grab the impressive 2-0 victory.

Second half goals from Andre Hainault and Carlo Costly provided the winning margin.  Sporting KC had a penalty claim turned down in the 77th minute that would have allowed an opportunity to tie the match before Costly put it away late on.

The Galaxy and Real Salt Lake played a cracking match late Sunday night in the Western Conference finals.  It was a wide open match as both sides played with tired legs on short rest.  The Galaxy were clearly the class though as Landon Donovan, David Beckham and Robbie Keane lifted them to the 3-1 victory.

A 23rd minute penalty kick from Landon Donovan was answered quickly by Alvaro Saborio and the match went to halftime 1-1.  Los Angeles broke the game open in the second half though as Mike Magee headed home a Beckham cross in the 58th.  Robbie Keane put it away ten minutes later and the Galaxy were on their way to their 7th MLS Cup.
