Mens College Cup set for the weekend
The 2011 mens College Cup is set for this weekend as UCLA, Creighton, North Carolina and Charlotte make up the final four college soccer sides still standing after four rounds of play.  The Big East crashed and burned after having three sides left in the quarterfinal round yet all three lost in heartbreaking fashion.

All three lost in extra time or penalty kicks.  UConn fell in penalty kicks to cinderella Charlotte.  The match was scoreless into the final ten minutes when UConn's Tony Cascio scored in the 82nd minute.  Charlotte went right to work though and got the match tied three minutes later through Giuseppe Gentile.  The game would go to penalties where Charlotte was perfect in four shots to win 4-2.

The other two Big East sides would fall in overtime.  UCLA got revenge for Louisville sending them out of the tournament last year as they claimed a tight 1-0 overtime win.  A Reed Williams goal in the 102nd minute wqas the difference. Creighton knocked off South Florida in the other quarterfinal as Ethan Finlay scored in the 97th minute.  Creighton and Charlotte will face off in a semifinal Friday.

Powerful North Carolina rolled on as they dominated their quarterfinal winning comfortably 2-0 over St Mary's of California.  North Carolina bossed the match and notched a pair of 2nd half goals from Matt Hedges and Ben Spears.  They'll face West Coast powers UCLA in a semifinal on Friday.
