Manchester United got the last laugh on Carlos Tevez and Manchester City as Wayne Rooney's extra time goal sent United past City in the Carling Cup semifinals. The two legs of the Carling Cup semifinal were just as drama filled and action packed as everyone had hoped for. The opening leg at City had a pair of Carlos Tevez goals in a 2-1 win. Along with the Man City win there were Tevez taunts after each goal and Gary Neville middle fingers in response.
The aftermath to the 2nd leg had more words in the press as Tevez called Neville a "sock-sucker and a moron". The 2nd leg was just as exciting as the first. A pair of second half United goals looked to have them in control, but once again it would be Carlos Tevez as he evened the two legs at 3-3. The match would thus be settled in overtime.
In the extra time somehow the Manchester City defenders lost track of the dangerous Wayne Rooney who headed home the winner and Manchester United advances to the Carling Cup Final. Unietd celebrated in style as they took a victory lap around Old Trafford while City slumped to their locker rooms dejected.
