A piece of brilliance from Nani and two penalties from Ryan Giggs moved Manchester United into pole position in the race for the Premier League title following a 3-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. After a Ledley King header pulled Tottenham even it looked like United's title hopes were in serious jeopardy. But as usual Manchester United would grab the victory late on as Nani produced an incredible chip to beat Spurs goalkeeper Gomes before Ryan Giggs belted home his second penalty to seal another famous win. United are two points ahead of second-placed Chelsea, who play Stoke City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Hull City's EPL stay will end at 2 years as they were beaten by Sunderland thanks to an early Darren Bent goal. The result, coupled with West Ham's win over Wigan, means the Tigers are six points from safety with two games left and with a vastly inferior goal difference. It could have been different had Jimmy Bullard scored a 41st-minute penalty rather than hit a post, while both sides were reduced to 10 men in first half injury-time after a clash between Jozy Altidore and Alan Hutton.
Scott Parker returned from a two-match suspension to help fire West Ham United six points clear of the relegation zone with a blistering match-winner in a 3-2 victory over Wigan Athletic at Upton Park. The Hammers were a goal down after four minutes when Jonathan Spector turned Ben Watson's corner into his own net - but they hit back with strikes from Ilan and Radoslav Kovac. The Hammers struggled to deal with Watson's corners all day and Hugo Rodallega profited from more poor defending to draw Wigan level. But Parker, West Ham's player of the season, smashed in a 25-yard strike to take all three points.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake came off the bench to rescue a point for Wolves and put them on the brink of Premier League survival with a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers at Molineux. Ebanks-Blake had been on the pitch for barely a minute when he headed home an 80th minute centre from Stephen Ward. His strike cancelled out a first-half opener from Rovers skipper Ryan Nelsen and was Wolves' first goal in 469 minutes.
On-loan striker Aruna Dindane's brace gave relegated Portsmouth a 2-2 draw against Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok. Dindane's goals came in the second half and marked a spirited response after Ivan Klasnic had scored the opener for Bolton in the 26th minute and two minutes later Kevin Davies added a second.
