Another furious Manchester United rally saw two goals in the final six minutes to salvage a 3-3 draw with CSKA Moscow at Old Trafford Tuesday in Champions League play. CSKA Moscow travelled to England intent on getting a result and it looked like they would as were on the board first on 25 minutes through Alan Dzagoev and held a 2-1 halftime lead.
When Vasili Berezutsky made it 3-1 just after halftime things looked bleak for Manchester United. The 3-1 deficit would stand until the 84th minute when Paul Scholes gave Man U a lifeline by heading home to cut the lead. Then an own goal at the death evened the score when a Paul Scholes shot deflected in.
With the draw Manchester United assured themselves of passage to the knockout round. Other teams that clinched spots in the next round today were Porto, Bordeaux and Chelsea. Porto defeated Al Nicosia 1-0 while Bordeaux beat Bayern Munich 2-0. Chelsea played to a 2-2 tie at Atletico Madrid to earn passage.
