Landon Donovan is now a target of Manchester City from the English Premier League. Man City coach Roberto Mancini revealed today that he is intent upon signing the US star away from MLS and the LA Galaxy. The English side had scouts at all four of the United States matches at the World Cup.
Landon Donovan has seen his stock skyrocket during 2010. First he joined Everton on loan to start the year and showed very well against the top teams in the English Premier League. Then Donovan was clearly the US star scoring several important goals at the 2010 World Cup last month in South Africa.
Manchester City have already signed David Silva, Yaya Toure and Jerome Boateng for a total of over £50 million recently to bolster their squad and have clear intentions of making a run for the EPL title this year. Donovan might be hard to pry away from MLS and the LA Galaxy as statements have been made by management that he would not be sold.
