For over an hour Everton did everything they needed to do. They defended in numbers and kept the dangerous Manchester City players in front of them. When City were able to get a good attack keeper Tim Howard was on hand to thwart it. The home fans were beginning to get a bit restless as the match moved on scoreless.
After the hour mark though, City coach Mancini pulled the right triggers as substitutes accounted for both goals in the 2-0 Manchester win. Mancini pulled Dzeko in favor of Balotelli who made his coach look good scoring on only his second touch of the game.
On the goal, Kun Aguero dribbled across the top of the Everton area before slipping a deft touch back to Balotelli who was waiting to strike. His shot deflected off Phil Neville and flew perfectly into the right corner of the net.
Everton tried to push for the equalizer, but the tide was set in motion. Manchester City would grab the second goal at the end as James Milner got his first goal off a wonderful pass from David Silva. The win puts City into first place in the EPL standings while rivals Manchester United try to take back the position as they play Stoke later today.
