Seems the LA Galaxy aren't too happy about the way last season ended in the MLS Cup. Losing in penalty kicks didn't do a body good and the team has opened 2010 with a vengeance winning their opening four MLS matches. They have beaten New England, Chivas USA, Houston and Real Salt Lake to start the season.
Even without the injured David Beckham the team has flourished. It's been a total team effort with Edson Buddle in fine form up top notching an MLS leading seven goals so far. Landon Donovan is back from Everton and terrorizing MLS with his darting runs and great passing. Donovan has the assist on four of Buddle's goals.
The defense has been in even better form. With last year's MLS rookie of the year Omar Gonzalez anchoring the backline and Donovan Ricketts in goal the Galaxy has only given up one goal this season. It's clear Bruce Arena has his troops organized and ready to take the MLS by storm. The Galaxy already has a five point lead at the top of the Western Conference standings. Next up is an away match to Kansas City before returning home to face the expansion Philadelphia Union.
