Young American star Jozy Altidore will join Hull City of the English Premier League on loan from Villareal for the season. The 19 yr old Altidore was purchased by Villareal last summer for a record MLS transfer fee of $10 million dollars from New York Red Bull. He will await a work permit before he is eligible to begin EPL play and will be introduced Thursday in a news conference in Hull.
Jozy Altidore increased his stock after a wonderful recent run up top with the US team that earned runner up honors at the 2009 Conferderations Cup in South Africa in July. He scored in the huge US upset of Spain in the semifinals and has 7 goals in 16 US national team appearances.
Hull City has been searching for help scoring goals as they had a terrible time finding the net over the last half of last year. Hull opens with Chelsea on August 15th.
