The Los Angeles Galaxy continued their impressive run extending their streak to nine unbeaten to open the 2010 MLS season with a scoreless draw with Toronto FC. It was a game that the Galaxy dominated and if weren't for young Toronto FC keeper Stefan Frei , Los Angeles would have notched their 8th win of the season. Frei made several wonderful saves to keep the game tied last night.
The defense continues to be the story for the Galaxy. They have only allowed 2 goals in the first nine games. MLS goalscoring leader Edson Buddle has slowed his torrid scoring pace and will be leaving to join the US National Team as they prepare for the World Cup. If Buddle makes the American squad it will put more pressure on the Galaxy defense to continue throwing shutouts. The team will already be missing Landon Donovan for the World Cup.
The Galaxy are 7-0-2 so far and hold a whopping 10 point lead already in the MLS Western Conference. The other 7 teams are bunched tightly within one game of each other. Los Angeles next hits the road for a Thursday night contest at suddenly hot FC Dallas.
