Report: Lampard Talks Stalled - Contract talks between Chelsea and Frank Lampard have reportedly broken down, with the midfielder closer than ever to a move to the continent.
The 28-year-old England man has been attempting for several months to negotiate a new deal at Stamford Bridge, but his insistence on a five-year commitment could have scuppered any chance of success.
The News of the World claims an emergency Blues board meeting was convened late last week to discuss the matter, but no offer was forthcoming, leaving Lampard with little option but to pursue a move to Europe. Having completed more than three years on his current contract, the Romford-born midfielder also has the opportunity to buy himself out at Chelsea and would then be available for £9million. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are all vying for Lampard's attentions, but the Blues could yet decide to concede to his demands and keep him at the Bridge.
