It seems talks are in progress to send Landon Donovan to Everton of the English Premier League. Everton is currently riddled with injuries and are desperate for help to get out of the bottom half of the EPL standings. It is also no secret that Landon Donovan has been itching to head back to Europe for months now. It seems the perfect fit.
Everton chief executive Robert Elstone stated "Landon is a player David Moyes has identified as someone he would like to bring to the club. We are working to make that happen and hope we can reach agreement soon with all the appropriate parties."
The deal would not initially be permanent. It would be more similar to the David Beckham loan to AC Milan. It would be short term and Landon would be expected back in Los Angeles to play with the Galaxy next MLS season. Everton has a history of success with American players as Tim Howard currently mans the nets there. Also Brian McBride and Joe Max Moore have had success at Everton as well.
If the deal goes through Landon Donovan could be on the field for Everton as soon as the January 9th match with Arsenal.
