Derby County Wolves and Cal Odyssey play for U16 Academy Title
Derby County Wolves and Cal Odyssey will fight it out on Friday for the U16 Development Academy championship at the Home Depot Center in California.   The match will be televised on ESPN Classic Friday evening 7pm Pacific time.

Derby County clinched the Group 1 top spot and their place in the final by winning their opening two matches over FC Dallas (3-1) and Chicago Magic (1-0).  This allowed them to rest players in their last group game which was a 2-0 loss to NY Red Bull.

After winning two tight 1-0 contests to open group play over PDA and Greensboro, Cal Odyssey still needed a result in their final Group 2 match with Washington Premier to get into the finals.   It was a tight 0-0 game into the second half when Cal Odyssey earned a penalty which Jose Segura put away for the lead.  Washington Premier were able to grab one back through Darwin Jones, but the match ended 1-1 putting Cal into the championship match.

Chicago Magic and PDA will face off for 3rd place before the Derby County - Cal Odyssey title game.
