US National teamer Clint Dempsey was the hero for Fulham as he struck for both goals in a 2-0 EPL victory over Wigan. It was a huge win for Clint and the club who had fallen to 16th in the standings. The three points move Fulham up to 8th place in the 20 team EPL. The win also ended Wigan's six match unbeaten streak.
The two goals put Clint Dempsey to the top of the Fulham scoring charts with 4 goals in 10 EPL matches this season.
"More than anything today was all about the result," said Dempsey. "We had slipped down the table and that wasn't where we wanted to be. This win has put us in a more positive position and we can build on that and move forward."
Fulham return home to face Aston Villa next week at Craven Cottage.
"We want to keep the momentum that we have from this win going and hopefully we can do that," said Clint. "It's iomportant to get as many points as we can and the Cottage has always been good to us."
