The David Beckham drama goes on and on. Now the focus has turned away from a permanent transfer from the LA Galaxy to AC Milan turning to a loan extension that would allow Beckham to remain in Italy through June. The extension being negotiated would allow David Beckham to finish the Serie A season in Italy before returning to MLS for the rest of 2009.
After finishing the MLS season Beckham can opt out of his MLS contract and join AC Milan permanently for free in 2010. If the agreement is finalized, David Beckham will miss the first 17 MLS matches for the Galaxy (basically half the MLS season).
