The Dallas Cup XXX Super Group final is all set as Vancouver knocked off Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 and Sao Paolo FC defeated Manchester City in penalty kicks after a scoreless draw. Vancouver and Eintracht Frankfurt battled scoreless into the 2nd half on Friday night at Pizza Hut Park with neither team really creating much of any scoring chances at all. Then came the blunder that changed the match completely. Vancouver's Dever Orgill was called for offside deep in the Frankfurt half. The Frankfurt keeper wanted to play short even though a Dever Orgill was lurking closeby. He played a 5 yard ball to the centerback who was immediately under pressure from Orgill. The centerback returned the ball to the keeper who tried to clear upfield, but the Dever Orgill blocked the ball and it rolled into the net for the gamewinner with only 15 minutes to play. Dever Orgill would get a 2nd late on as the Germans were pushing up.
Vancouer Whitecaps 2 Eintracht Frankfurt 0
The second match of the night was a real cracker as Sao Paolo FC of Brazil and Manchester City of England went back and forth. Sao Paolo did a wonderful job containing City star forward Robbie Mak making sure to get two and three players around him all night long. Mak only got loose once all evening. On the other end, Sao Paolo were creating more and more chances as the match wore on and they called on Man City keeper Joe Clegg to make several quality saves. Neither side could find the vital goal though even through both overtime periods. The match went to penalties where the Brazilian keeper made two saves while Sao Paolo did not miss the mark.
Sao Paolo FC 0 Manchester City 0 (Sao Paolo advances on penalties 4-2)
