Another new year and the next Dallas Cup is just around the corner. The 2013 edition of Dallas Cup will be as good as ever. The 12 team bracket contains teams from 8 different countries and four separate continents. Both of last year's finalists return to go head to head once again in Manchester United and Brazil's Cortiba. The two played a highly entertaining final last year that saw the Brazilians prevail 2-1.
South America - Cortiba & Fluminense
Two very talented Brazilian sides will be in attendance this year and both must be considered significant title challengers. Last year's champions Cortiba will be joining the popular Fluminense side. Cannot wait to see these two play!
Europe - Manchester United, Fulham, Eintracht Frankfurt & Aalborg
Manchester United returns this year to try and win the title after falling in the championship match last year. Joining Man U will be Eintracht Frankfurt from Germany as well as the UK youth champions Fulham FC. Aalborg of Denmark will be making their first appearance in the tournament.
Mexico - Tigres & Club America
The US rivals will once again send two very talented sides to the Dallas Cup. The popular Club America and perennial contenders Tigres will be on hand.
North America - Toronto FC, Los Angeles Galaxy and Dallas Texans SC
Three stout American sides will provide opposition. The Dallas Texans won the Frontier Division of the US Soccer Development League and were the last American club to win the Dallas Cup Super Group. The Los Angeles Galaxy lead the Southwest Division against the powerful SoCal competition.
Asia - Kashiwa Reysol
Japanese champions Kashiwa Reysol return again this year after a dominating display last year when they dominated Everton in group play. Their quick, possession style left crowds impressed.
The 2013 Dallas Cup will be played the week of March 24-31. The premier Super Group games will be played at the Cotton Bowl this year.
