Dallas Cup XXXI is set to kickoff on Sunday afternoon and what a tournament it should be. Just looking through the groupings there is no question Dallas Cup is the best youth tournament available. Sunday opens the U19 Super Group play as well as the foreign sides facing the Dallas sides.
The Super Group will be nothing short of spectacular this year. Youth National teams from Mexico, Japan and the USA along with Chelsea and Tottenham from England would be enough to make anyone drool, but the quality is even deeper. Add in Mexican pro sides CD Guadalajara, Tigres and CF Monterrey and don't forget Cruzeiro from Brazil and Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany. The games will be awesome.
Sunday there will be three feature Super Group matches in the stadium at Pizza Hut Park. At 1:00 Tottenham Hotspurs will face Dallas Texans U18 Academy followed at 3:00 by Chelsea against the FC Dallas Youth Academy. The big match comes in the evening though as at 7:00 the USA under 19s will face off against arch rivals Mexico under 19s. Another prime matchup Sunday shows Tigres of Mexico against the Japan youth national team.
The great competition does not just end with the Dallas Cup Super Group. In the regular Under 19 bracket there are Houston Dynamo, Toronto FC, IMG and Shattuck St Mary's to go along with foreign sides Knowsley Youth of England and the Archbishop Tutu's Ikapa side from South Africa.
The Under 17 age is always one of the best as the college soccer scouts are out in droves to watch the talent. Elite American sides Dallas Texans, Campton United from Illinois, Chicago Fire Jrs and Scott Gallagher will be represented. Throw in six sides from Mexico as well as teams from Costa Rica, France, China and New Zealand and the U17s will be the most competetive age at Dallas Cup XXXI.
All the ages are loaded with talent as top American club sides square off with teams from all over the globe. Soccermogul will be doing regular updates checking in on the action all week long.
