As the season enters its last couple of weeks of regular season play, conference battles are heating up all over the country. This weekend shows several hugely important conference games as #1 Wake Forest faces their biggest test of the year.
In ACC soccer, the top ranked Wake Forest squad must travel to Boston College in a fight for the top spot in the ACC. The winner looks to be the top seed in the conference tournament. Meanwhile, the rest of their conference mates will continue to fight it out for seeding. The other big game of the weekend shows Virginia hosting Duke.
Maryland - NC State
North Carolina - Clemson
#6 Virginia - #14 Duke
Out west we find a very tight Pac 10 race with UCLA narrowly at the top with California and San Diego State only a point behind. UCLA hosts Oregon State and Washington this weekend as they try to stay on top on the league.
In Big Ten soccer, Indiana looks to keep their hot streak rolling as they host Penn State. The big game of the weekend has #10 Northwestern at home to #11 Michigan State. Also, Michigan visits Ohio State coming off their solid win over Akron.
In Conference USA, Memphis travels to face #3 SMU on Saturday. Memphis could be a major player in the race if they could pull the upset over SMU who beat South Carolina on Wednesday.
The Big East soccer race has #7 Notre Dame comfortably in first but a massive logjam from 2nd to 8th. #2 U Conn looks to solidify their stance in the fight for 2nd as they host Marquette. Providence needs a result against Notre Dame on Sunday to stay in the pack. Other important games have Louisville - Rutgers and Seton Hall - West Virginia.
