College Soccer - Week 3 Preview

Week 3 of the 2008 NCAA soccer season is approaching fast and teams around the country are looking to fine tune their game before conference play begins.  On the east coast we have ACC play beginning with several enticing games on tap.  Here is a look at the major matches across the US this weekend.

ACC -
#8 Boston College at #2 Maryland - monster matchup in the opening weekend of ACC play.
North Carolina State at #20 North Carolina - NC looks to continue good start.
Duke at Virginia Tech - both teams looking for a big win on opening weekend

Other national games of note:
#10 Akron at #19 New Mexico - tought trip for Akron as NM looks for the upset

#9 California at #30 Santa Clara - Santa Clara happy to be home after horrible road trip.  Cal looks to continute strong play.

#11 Indiana at #21 UCLA - both teams continue grueling early season schedule in an attractive matchup of national powers.

#4 UConn at #12 St Louis - big opportunity for SL to grab a major scalp

Virginia Tech at #14 St Johns - Virginia Tech looks for a huge win over a hot St Johns squad looking to jump into the Soccermogul top 10.

#6 Illinois Chicago at #27 Michigan - a statement game for UIC while Michigan fresh into the poll tries to move up.
