The 2008 college soccer season kicked off this weekend with several wonderful matchups around the country. Lots of upsets and great matches were played with defending national champions Wake Forest claiming a pair of wins on the weekend. #2 ranked UConn slipped up as they had to rally late to earn a draw with #18 Tulsa.
Big Movers on the Weekend -
#19 SMU - travelled to Virginia and knocked off #13 Old Dominion and #16 Virginia
#15 California - defeated UC Riverside Friday and followed it up with a 1-0 win over Maryland
#24 Akron - smashed #26 Notre Dame 3-0 and good draw with #5 Indiana
Bradley - good wins over UAB and Memphis
Flops on the Weekend -
#12 St Louis - only managed a pair of ties against San Diego and Loyola Marymount
Duke lost a pair to Indiana and Notre Dame
#27 Denver flopped in losses to Wisconsin and Dayton
St Johns - a pair of wins over Virginia and Old Dominion
West Virginia lost to Lafayette and tied Duquesne
