Several big games are on tap for the opening weekend of mens college soccer. Here's a look at a few.
#7 Boston College - Boston U
A rivalry game to start the season is not an easy task for #7 Boston College. Last year BC squeeked by in a tight 1-0 match.
#5 Indiana - Duke
Both teams have a very difficult opening weekend and will be looking to get off on a good note. Give the nod to #5 Indiana on their home turf as Duke looks to jump back onto the national scene after a down year.
#26 Notre Dame - #24 Akron
Akron with a killer opening weekend...first #26 Notre Dame and then #5 Indiana. While Notre Dame faces #24 Akron followed by Duke.
#8 Northwestern - San Francisco
San Francisco has a killer task as they try to bounce back from an uncharacteristically bad season. The problem is they are on the road at #8 Northwestern who is very good at home.
#17 UCLA - #4 Maryland
A big game for both teams to make a statement that they are to be major factors this year.
#19 SMU - #16 Virginia
A difficult road test to open the season as SMU travels to face Old Dominion and then at #16 Virginia who is looking to get back into the national picture this year.
#2 UConn - #18 Tulsa
A big road test for a strong Tulsa squad as they travel to national title contenders UConn.
#5 Indiana - #24 Akron
Another tough test for both teams after difficult Friday matches.
#26 Notre Dame - Duke
Same as above.
#11 Illinois Chicago - #3 Santa Clara
A tough road test for #3 Santa Clara as they travel to face #11 Illinois Chicago who is looking to continue to earn respect on the national scene after last year's tourney run.
